call_me_snake: (Fatherhood)
If you were to die tomorrow, what unfinished business would keep you here? Who/what/where would you haunt?

You'd think I'd say the government. Could really fuck with them. Some more of the bastards would blow their brains out but got to thinking that I wouldn't haunt shit. What you'd get is some people getting fucked if they messed with mine after I was gone. My family's the only thing keeping me here. It's why I'm not wandering aimlessly all over the fucking place right now. If anything was going to keep me from leaving it would be them.

Tonight's challenge: List five things about you that are ordinary and five things about you that are special.

The normal things:
I'm a father
I am getting gray
I hate traffic jams
I like candy
I fall asleep when I lay on the couch.

The special things:
I have a photographic memory
I am still an expert marksman without depth perception
I've escaped the "inescapable" prisons
I can sense changes in the weather and elevation
I have no sense of time passing.

It's time for another list full of lists:

5 Reasons you would never ask your friends for advice.
They don't tell me "no" enough.
I might implicate them in a crime.
My best friend doesn't disagree with me.
Drinking whiskey over advice.
More likely to be my partner in crime than guilty conscious.

4 Things you do with your money.
Buy food
Gamble
Get the family gifts
Gas.

3 Reasons you should possibly see a shrink.
Sophia
What the last shrinks did to me
PTSD

2 Places you will never forget.
The beach in San Fran
Coming home after the war.

1 Language you can speak
Only one? Shit... Iroquois.

Are you more pragmatic and practical, or do you help/act because it is the right thing to do?

Here we are with this bullshit again. Why the fuck do you people think that being practical means something bad. Hell the way you word this bullshit being practical means you don't do the right thing. What kind of bullshit is that?

I do shit because it's the right thing to do. Fuck the laws. Fuck the consequences. That doesn't mean I'm not approaching the shit with practicality.

This shit is fucking stupid.

Take each letter of your name, and make it a song in your playlist. Don't forget to place your playlist behind a cut if there is a chance it will autoplay.

Bonus points if you can spell out your full name.
Extra bonus points if you can make all the songs relate to you.

Where are my extra extra bonus points for this shit? )

Tell us about your character's parents/parental figures, and their relationship with them.

Snake Plissken:
Snake was very close to his parents. He cared for his parents more than anything. He was much closer to his mother and used to seek her out when he felt troubled. He sees her still as a woman who was very worldly and understood people. The death of his mother was/is harder on him than his father. Snake respected his father, wanted to be his father but their relationship was always strained. Both men are rebellious and convinced they know what is best. Through the turmoil though they both still respected each other. Snake is upset that his last words to his father were said in anger. Outside of his father Snake's maternal grandfather was a big influence on his life. He spent a lot of time with them and a lot of his survival skills originate during the time he spent on his grandfather's farm and subsequently on the Indian reservation when they would go there. Snake also looks to the few deities he trusts for guidance in a very child like way. This is particularly true for Athena and Lilith though at times he will seek out Lucifer in the same manner.

For this prompt, tell us something (or somethings!) that you know about your character(s) which they themselves are not aware of. Bits of backstory, their eventual fate, things they are maybe in denial about.... anything and everything!

There are two things and they come in right with each other. Ain't one worse than the other but one I have to do more.

First off, babies are never that happy about getting a diaper changed. That picture is a lie but the only one I could find that didn't blatantly show shit and have some stupid fucking saying on it.

Second, we have work invoicing. This is like hell only with more bitching people and stupid fucks attatched to it. The next pansy assed bastard who complains that I got the invoice dirty by touching the damned thing is eating the invoice. Now that I think about it, invoicing might be worse than diapers. Don't matter. I hate both.

Make a list of:

Five things you fear.

You really expect me to tell you that? Alright, I fear people stupid enough to ask me that question. Idiots can do some pretty amazing shit.

Five things you love.
- My family
- Flying
- Good Bourbon
- Staying busy
- Dogs

Are there any crossovers or have these things at one time been on the former and now belong to the latter and vice versa?

No, they've never changed.

What aspect of your character do you find the most challenging? This could be something physical, like a disability or an allergy. It might also be their lifestyle, their sleep habits, or a particular personality trait. These are just a few examples -- have fun with this and see what you can come up with !

For Snake:
I think the hardest aspect is to play his low points. I guess it is a disability. I really have a hard time switching gears from his really aggressive, don't fuck with me attitude to the broken side of who he is. It is part of his Post Traumatic. That part of himself that sees Snake Plissken as a failure that has let everyone and everything he cares about die. There's a sense of despair to this part of his personality that brings me down too and makes it hard to play.

For Ian:
Ian's is obvious. Always having the right answer is hard to play. It is a lot of time spent looking up theories and formulas and knowledge. I study/studied things very similar to his expertise in college but he is that much more. He is supposed to always be right no matter what. That is a very difficult thing to play.

For Peninnah:
Hands down it has to be her lack of judgment. People like to judge others, we form opinions. As muns we have opinions about the personality of a character. Peninnah has no judgment of anyone. So I have to set all opinions aside, all thoughts of self preservation and fear have to be set aside. Peninnah is true neutral and compassionate. That is a very difficult mindset to get into. The idea that she is just as likely to help a serial killer that wants to kill her as she is a child is a difficult thing to remember.

For Rosie:
Here it is the need to not get too serious. Rosie doesn't like to be serious and doesn't take most things to that point. She's here to just live and have fun. On days when I'm stressed she is impossible to play because her mindset is so far from what I feel. Despite the difficulty her personality makes a great uplifting point to play.

Deadwood, SD. America's last authentic wild west town. That's main street in Deadwood.

That's my parent's house just a few blocks back from Main Street. House ain't there anymore. Bastards burnt it down but that's where I was.

The first thought is always a dragon but it doesn't suit me. Really what I would have to be is a griffin. They're used to symbolize nobility, loyalty, wisdom and strength. I can't see anyone disagreeing with that except for those bastards in the USPF. For them, the griffin appears out of nowhere and is destructive, aggressive and war like. There, shut all the bastards up. Add the fact that in modern fiction they're depicted as careful and defensive parents and you ain't going to see an argument about a griffin being me. (We'll conveniently forget about that divine power shit applied to them.)

All that shit aside, I would love to fly. I wouldn't want to be a mythical creature unless the damned thing had wings. They look sleek to me like a sports car or a fighter jet. Dragons don't look that streamlined and efficient.

Apparently they come in black too )

How big is your headspace? Do you collect dozens of characters who chatter constantly, or does one stand out and demand all your attention over a long period of time?

All of the above? There is a constant chatter in my head from all of them. Some interesting conversations come out of the crew I tote around. However, the ones that are played here are the most talkative and attention grabbing. Snake, Ian, Rosie, Peninnah and to a certain extent Hammond are the loudest as a rule. The others sneak in when they pipe down or get busy in behind the scenes stuff. For the most part all the muses I consider active speak at least every other week to someone or in some prompt or post.

My headspace is a pretty busy place. To get an idea imagine those videos of Parliaments in India or Korea or some other country where there is a debate that sometimes goes well and other times turns into something reminiscent of WWF SummerSlam cage match. That is my headspace all the time.

1. How does procrastination factor into your writing habits?
Procrastination is the reason I write. Those days you see me posting piles of fics usually means I'm not doing something else that I am dreading in RL. Most of my writing and rp in fact are done when I don't want to do something else.

2. How much does it hold you back?
Procrastination rarely holds me back. However, if I procrastination too long I'll write too much and get that blank head feeling. (You know what I'm talking about, where you feel like there are just no more words left in your head.) That usually takes a day or two to recover from.

3. What do you do to put off your writing?
Do what I'm avoiding? I like to write and write often so putting myself off from writing is a big part of motivating myself to do RL things sometimes.

4. What, if anything, do you tell yourself to turn yourself off from the writing urge?
I play a game where I allow myself to write one story and then work on what I need to do for an equivalent amount of time or one story = accomplishing one thing on my to-do list. Yes, I bribe myself and I am not ashamed of it. XD
call_me_snake: (Ready for Anything)
Can there be a better go out and get them, celebratory song?

No, didn't think so. It's the Rocky Theme. Anyone who's ever seen the movie and got caught up in it wouldn't argue.

Hell if I know. I'll eat anything, within reason. Meat, vegetables, insects, anything reasonably edible. I'm a true omnivore. I'm not a carnivore or a herbivore. Peach pie is one of my favorites but nothing like a huge burger.

Neither. I'm neither. I'm an omnivore.
