Snake woke to a kiss and grinned long before his eye opened. He had his arms around Bria when he started blinking in the bright room. "Good morning honey."
He started dragging her back into the bed while she giggled. "I've got to go."
"Why?" Snake put the soft purr into his voice that she liked so much.
"I have an appointment." Bria started to wiggle away. "I dressed the kids and fed them. They're yours today."
"They're always mine." Snake smirked pulling her down as he sat up.
"Snake."
He relented to her protest. "Alright. If I got to honey."
Bria kissed his cheek and he sat there on the bed half tangled in the sheet watching her. He needed about six hours more sleep. That obviously wasn't going to hasppen.
"Daddy!" Cassie appeared at the door with a scared look.
"Can it wait a second sweetie?" Snake rubbed his face to try and wake up.
"Umm... I think." She was thoughtful and looking back down the hall.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Snake grabbed his cigarettes. Pulling one out he lit it while waiting.
"Well. Mason got the cookies out again."
"Alright." Snake smiled. "Go downstairs and I'll be there in a second."
Cassie ran off and Snake stood to dress. Hurrying he pulled on his jeans and holster. The first shirt he grabbed he pulled on and headed for the door. He could hear crying and hurried. There, in the dinning room sat Mason on the floor crying because the dogs were eating his cookies.
"Get the fuck out." Snake waved violently at the dogs. They scattered but not before all the cookies were gone.
"Coo...ie" Mason screamed in tears and hiccuped through the words.
"Oh buddy. Come on." Snake picked him up and he clung to him. Cassie was coloring and he saw the twins standing in the playpen doing the little dance they seemed to do on their weak legs. This was going to be a hell of a day.
"How are you munchkins." Snake rubbed them on the head and got the grabby one handed motions. They wanted held. Snake rolled his eye as he sat Mason on the couch. He wouldn't let go and the twins, starting with Steven broke out into a scream.
"Mason. Sit here with aunt Cassie." Snake wiggled free of the boy who Cassie thankfully started cuddling.
"Alright." Snake Picked both the twins up and went to sit on the couch. Mason crawled up to get in his lap too. Snake just sighed as the three held on to him.
"How are you sweetie?" Snake smiled at his daughter. "That's a pretty one. Do I get it for my office?"
She shook her head. "Nuhu. I making it for the fridge."
"That'll look good out there." Snake smiled and looked down at the three who were already falling asleep. It seemed funny to him that every time he held them they fell asleep. Everyone else seemed tense around him but the babies just zonked out as soon as he had them.
"Looks like it's you and me with the munchkins today." Snake smiled. "You want to do something?"
Cassie turned from her coloring. "Can we go to the park?"
"Of course." Out of the house did sound nice.
"After I color." She turned back "After lunch."
"Alright, after lunch." Snake slid over and laid out on the couch behind Cassie. The den sofa was amazing. He turned on the TV to the Discovery channel but he didn't see much. That tired feeling rolled over him. It wasn't long until he was as asleep as the three children laying on him. Snake had no idea how long he slept but it felt amazing. By the time the shaking started he felt perfectly relaxed. His eye flew open but he'd learned to control his attack response at home.
"Daddy. It is time for lunch."
He gazed sleepily at Cassie before turning to the clock on the cable box. It was 12:30 already. Where had the two hours gone? It made the sense given his much more awake feeling. Plissken smiled when he saw Mason and Mia were busy sticking their tongues out at each other while still laying on his chest. Steven however was still asleep. It was a good thing to wake up to.
"What are we having for lunch?" He manuvered to sit Mia and Mason on the couch so he could sit up. Steven was still sleeping soundly.
"Pizza!" Cassie smiled.
"Have you had any milk today?" Snake asked suspiciously.
"Well. Soy milk on cereal." She was cute so much and for some reason right now she was adorable.
"Then we can have pizza." Snake stood up and gently picked up Steven. "Why don't you got get the stuff out for it?"
Cassie was so helpful and gone almost before the sentence was finished. He checked Steven but he didn't need changed. Laying his son in the playpen. After he checked the other two. They were both still good too. He picked up Mia and smiled at Mason. "You want lunch?"
The boy toddled after him when he made his way to the kitchen. He put Mia in the walker that was in the kitchen then handed her a bottle. He was in motion now and realizing he was starting to feel like he'd been starved. In one motion he got out a sippy cup and dog food. Filled the cup, handed it to Mason who just made it to the kitchen. Then he filled the dog bowls that were at the far side of the kitchen by the door.
"Done." Cassie announced she had all the ingredients out.
"Thanks Sweetie." Snake got over to the counter and openned the Baboli pack. "Can you turn the oven to 350?"
Snake pulled out a cookie sheet and laid them out. Cassie was pulling the step stool over next to him to help. "Did you wash your hands?"
She nodded and Snake slid the cookie sheet over with the jar of sauce. "You're on sauce duty sweetie."
Snake smiled down at the tug on his pants. He handed down a piece of cheese then started grating. By the time he was done grating Cassie had the sauce spread out. "What else should we put on it?"
"Mushrooms."
Snake nodded. "Onions too?"
"Ok." Cassie leaned over to wash the sliced mushrooms while Snake diced up onion. He spread the onions while Cassie put the mushroom slices on the pizzas. Then they spread the cheese.
"Looks good. Set the timer for 20." Snake took the pizzas to the oven. Then he got out the dishes.
"Apeles." Mason was tugging again.
"Not now. With Lunch." Snake knew that word. He wanted more juice.
The dogs ran past and Mason followed. Plissken could hear the car door out front. The girls were home. Just in time for lunch. Snake picked up Mia from the walker to go and greet them. Steven was still sleeping when he walked past. The boy was definitely taking after him.
