Flying lessons (Jekyll/Rose and family?)

Snake woke still curled around the bottle on the pilot's seat. He was cramped and cranky. He missed his bed and sighed wondering where the hell he was. For a moment he thought he was back in the war. Luckily that cleared before he opened his eye. There was no telling what time of day it was. Snake didn't care as he shifted around to get comfortable. He still wasn't much in the mood for company but he was going to have to be.

Reluctantly he sat up in the seat blinking at his reflection and mussed hair. He looked like shit and felt almost as bad. Rubbing his eye he slid the hatch back and listened. It was still quiet and Snake leaned the seat back intent on a few more minutes of sleep. He'd come out when he were ready.

I winced as I opened my eyes, not recognising the surrounding. I sat bolt upright at once, my eyes darting around the room. That was a bad idea, nausea twisted in my stomach, the urge to be sick almost overwhelming. I didn't know my way around the house, at all, and I wasn't quite sure whether or not I would actually be sick or not. My head also hurt, an insistant pounding at the front of my head.

Had I fallen asleep?

I still looked around me in my half daze until I realised where I was - Rose's. Where was she? Where was Snake and why the hell was I down here? Rising to my feet I padded out of the room, in search of the bathroom and trying to keep the sickness down.

Snake woke up again and frowned. He wasn't quite hungry but he would kill for juice. Slowly he climbed out of the glider and headed for the house. He'd passed the kitchen on his way out and he made a b-line for it praying that there would be Orange Juice in the fridge when he got there.

The door opened as I passed it and my head snapped up, nausea twisting in my stomach again. It was Snake. He looked as bad as I felt, probably the effects of the alcohol; "Do you know where the bathroom is?" I said softly, praying that he did.

Snake shrugged. I got no idea but if I don't find one here soon the bushes are looking mighty fine for a substitute.

I laughed a little, my hands over my stomach, my head still hurting. Now I knew why it was that I didn't drink; "How are you feeling this morning?" I meant the hang over, but it could also mean what happened last night. I wondered how Rose was... I hope she was okay.

Snake looked at him running his hands through his hair. Better then you look. He was worried a bit. If nothing else the kitchen's that way. The garbage can or the sink.

Snake knew that green look he had.

I laughed a little again, swallowing hard; "There are reasons I never drink..." I murmured, my eyes looking around for the bathroom, or anything else. I ran my fingers through my own hair and sighed.

You get used to it. Snake was looking around too. Maybe upstairs?

"I hope so..." I murmured. "Perhaps, I mean, I would imagine so..." I didn't really want to wake anyone up though. I looked over at Snake and shrugged.

The kitchen's always an option if you want me to look around. Snake shrugged he was used to this feeling.

I simply nodded; "I would like that... I'm not quite sure if it will wait" I smiled weakly and made my way towards the kitchen, my head over the sink just incase.

Snake eventually found the bathroom and came back to Henry. It's down that way.

Snake got out a glass and started looking through the fridge for juice. Finding the orange juice he poured a huge glass and drank it down before pouring a second one.

When you're feeling a bit better you should drink some juice.

"Yeah..." I said, lifting my head and pushing my hair behind my ears. "Thanks." I padded out of the kitchen, my eyes scanning the doors until eventually I found it. Opening the door I entered, closing it behind me and making sure that it was locked.

It didn't take long and before long I was feeling slightly better. I washed my hands and face, tying my hair back and going back out to meet Snake in the kitchen.

"It helped a little" my voice gritty.

Snake left Henry and went back out to his glider. She ran his fingers over the metal and smiled. This was probably the best thing he'd ever stolen or at least his favorite. He pulled the blocks and shoved it backwards out the door and on to the grass. It really wasn't that hard to do alone. Years of practice.

He smiled looking at it and thought maybe when he got home he would take Xena and Hope up with him for a surprise. He checked the rudders and flaps. Last he checked the fuel levels. Snake really only needed enough to get off the ground. If you were good enough you could keep it up almost indefinitely on the air currents. Snake was the best and this was one thing he could feel arrogant about without the worry of being an egotist.

He climbed into the cockpit and adjusted the seats then laid back in the sun to wait for Henry.

Sighing deeply I walked out of the room, opening the door and exiting, looking around me to trying and find the glider and Snake. My heartbeat sped up slightly at what I was about to do, and again I wished that Rose was there with me. I hoped that once I had gotten to grips with everything then it would be that little bit easier.

I also couldn't help but worry about Edward.

It didn't take long for me to spot the glider and I walked over to it, spotting Snake's form in the front; "Hey, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting" I shouted upwards, hoping he could hear me.

No problem.

Snake smiled and motioned toward the cockpit behind him where the other seat was.

You ready to get this show on the road?

I climbed up, getting into the other seat, my movements more than a little gingerly. Rose said he wouldn't let anything happen to me, I believed her. It still didn't make this any easier; "As ready as I'll ever be..." I said, smiling nervously.

Snake turned around and showed him how to buckle the seat belt harness.

It's going to get cold and you're ears might fill up when the cockpit pressurizes.

Snake turned back to the front and buckled himself in before sliding the cover over the cockpit.

I'll show you the instruments once we're up and you're settled in.

The cabin started to cool down, air hissing in as it pressurized .

"Okay..." I said, my voice still nervous. I closed my eyes as things began to hiss, my heartbeat speeding up even more. The pressure in my head started to become uncomfortable but I tried to keep my breathing normal, tried to keep calm.

Just relax. Snake smiled knowing it was easier said then done.

Take off's going to be rough. We got wind coming in. Just remember no matter what we're not going to fall out of the sky.

Snake flipped on the jetpack so it would heat up.

They'll be a jolt and some bumping as we take off. You might get queasy from the Gs but it'll be over soon as I turn off the pack.

Snake glanced over his shoulder. I'm ready whenever you are.

"As Rose will testify I am not exactly the calmest person at the best of times..." I laughed, and it was almost hysterical in nature. I continued to concentrate on my breathing, it would be okay... I didn't need to worry, nothing was going to happen.

I hoped.

I nodded once and smiled slightly; "I'm ready"

I swallowed hard.

Snake nodded and pushed the jet into the green. There was a massive jolt and some bumping as the glider rolled across the lawn. As suddenly as it started it was smooth with a slight rolling up and down as the glider road the air currents. Snake turned the thrust off and glanced back at Henry.

I felt my stomach lurch as we began to move, and I bit my lip hard to both stop whatever was left in my stomach coming back up again and myself from crying out. It got steadier as I felt us taking off and after a short while I felt myself relax slightly, my hands relaxing at my side. I smiled, slightly wider this time;

"I think so..." I even laughed, and even that seemed calmer.

Snake smiled. Why don't you take your belt off and have a look out the hood.

Snake tapped the glass dome over them. We're still over Rose's house.

I undid my belt with slightly shaking hands, manouvering myself so I could look out. I felt slightly light headed as I looked down and my stomach lurched again ever so slightly but only because it was all so new. I smiled widely as I spotted Rose's house; "It's amazing..." I said softly, my voice awed.
