Snake was waiting in the office when his doctor came in. She knew him already and brought him a cup of coffee; black with a little honey in it.

“You seem in a better mood today.” She offered him the cup as she spoke. “Something good has happened?”

Snake took the cup and grinned. He was in such a good mood. He watched her take a seat across from him.

“Are you going to tell me or do I have to stay in the dark about this exciting news?” Aurora Patterson eyed Snake knowing in his time he’d come out with it.

“The twins said dada this morning while I was feeding them.” Snake sipped his coffee grinning only like a proud dad can.

“This is wonderful news.” She too was sipping her coffee. “I don’t think you’ve told me about them. Why don’t you today?”

Snake could think of worse topics to talk about over a cup of coffee. “What you want to know?”

“Tell me anything you want.” She answered trying to get him to open up.

“They were born April first. Only supposed to be one of them.” Snake chuckled.

“That’s some April Fool.” She couldn’t help but laugh along.

“Yeah. It was.” Snake shook his head looking down at the coffee. “We delivered them at home. Sitting there and cutting the cord on the first one and there’s another head. Thought the midwife was going to piss herself.”

“Sounds like quite a night you had.” Aurora smiled. “I’m sure their mother was surprised too.”

“She was too busy screaming at me, obscenities that I wouldn’t even use.” Snake smiled remembering some of the funny things Bria had said. “Remember sitting next to her holding them for the first time. She called them craisins.”

Snake started to laugh and the doctor was trying not to. “Funniest damned thing I ever heard.”

“Laughter is good for you.” The doctor commented. “It helps relieve stress.”

“Hell I should laugh more.” Snake smiled.

“What makes you laugh?” The doctor asked innocently but intent on keeping her patient in a good mood.

“Lot of shit.” Snake shrugged. The question was way too broad.

“Well…hmmm... what about comedians?”

“Carlin, all the time. Like John Cleese.” Snake took a drink of his much cooler coffee.

“Carlin’s humor definitely strikes me as something you would like.” She nodded in approval. “What about at home? Who makes you laugh the most?”

“Besides the kids being silly?” Snake grinned and thought about it. “Evie and Bria probably.”

“I don’t think we’ve mentioned them yet.”

“Evie’s my oldest and Bria’s my fiancé.” Snake answered still in an amazing mood.

“I thought you were already married.” Aurora was getting confused.

“I am.” Snake set his coffee down. “I have two wives.”

The doctor just nodded letting it pass for now. “How does Bria make you laugh?”

“She’s the only one with enough balls to tickle me.”

Mrs. Patterson grinned. “I can only imagine. You don’t seem like the ticklish type though.”

“Good.” Snake declared.

“It sounds like your relationship is very loving. Does your daughter do the same?”

“No.” Snake rolled his eye.

“Daughters do have a way with their dads.”

“Especially when their dad’s fiancé’s best friend.” Snake grumbled.

“I can imagine that would cause quite a stir.” Patterson nodded. “I think we can call this a session. It is good to see you laugh. I hope your luck holds out.”

“So do I sweetheart.” Snake was already standing. Like a kid hearing the school bell he all but dashed out the door.
