For
makeyourlist List of morals
Feb. 1st, 2009 06:09 amWasn't going to do this but with recent conversations with several people I think I want to.
1. Make a list of morals.
-Give back what you receive
-Don't kill for anything less than physical survival
-If they make you live as an animal strive to be a lion
-Fight fair. It's your honor that takes the hit when you don't.
-Honesty is the best policy and really pisses people off.
-Karma's a bitch and she bites - This goes with that first one
-Learn everything you can. It'll be useful eventually.
-Freedom is not free nor is it the right to do everything you damned well please.
-Help once out of kindness, twice out of the benefit of the doubt and the third time only if they are helping themselves
-Loyalty for loyalty. Break it and it's blank slate.
-Equality. In the beginning at least. You fuck up well, responsibility which is next anyway.
-Responsibility. Take it for what you say and do.
-Free Will. The idea that as long as it don't fuck with anyone else do what the hell you want. Territoriality as it is. Back to that lion analogy.
-Consent to those things that require it. My opinion is once you decide to take a life or the rights of others you forfeit yours. I do shit against consent. I steal. I've killed and I understand that comes back on me. Free will can be a bitch.
-Guard your honor, let the reputation be whatever they feel like saying.
-Never turn your back on family unless they betray that standard
-Self-sacrifice
-To sound cliche "Those who fight and run away live to fight another day." Meaning that retreat isn't a lack of courage. Think of all the courage it takes to go running back in after defeat.
-Greed is a true fault
-Treason is unforgivable.
-No man left behind... or woman for that matter. I don't abandon people.
-Don't break a vow.. maybe this goes with trust, honesty and honor?
-Know there's probably more but tired of trying to think of them.
