1. Think of the first word that comes to mind when you think of me.
2. Go to http://images.google.com and search for that word.
3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results -- don't tell me the word.
4. Put this in your own blog so that I can do the same.

1) Do you ever 'talk' to your characters?
Quite a bit. Some more than others. Of course it is usually all mental discourse. I haven't gone so far as to talk to myself, yet. Depending on the muses the conversations can be very different. [livejournal.com profile] sacredeyes is very compliant but others like Snake or [livejournal.com profile] autohomicide are much more defiant. I''ve had to learn to "talk" to all of them differently.

2) Do they talk back?
Snake literally never shuts up. He is a one man rolling commentary in my head. He has something to say about everything. The others are rarely talkative or as talkative. Of course I have muses that don't "speak". Listening to replies from [livejournal.com profile] queenofthehive is like an exercise in animal behavior. I often wonder how other people with other non-humanoid characters deal. I wonder if other people get alien languages babbled at them at 3 am from a muse who seems equally tired. The talk back is always the best. It seems for the most part the muses go with my cycle. Snake is obnoxiously cranky or obnoxiously awake way before I am. Mike is lazy in the morning. Peninnah is always pleasant but rarely talks. My dear [livejournal.com profile] jp_hammond.. let's just say I work in a Natural History museum. John Hammond is my company at work, well, and Snake. Those are interesting conversations. Sometimes [livejournal.com profile] chainedtoaskull pipes up in those work moments.

3) Is there a particular ritual you have that lets you get in touch with your inner voices?
Snake needs no poking though going to the gun range and working with my dog are sure to get him going at full speed. Peninnah takes solitude and so when I need to work with her I take a breather alone or walk the dog. Mike is odd in that random things spark his voice. The same goes for most of my other muses. Hammond, all I have to do is go to work. LOL Hammond and Bob need an intellectual pursuit usually. Of course watching a muse's show/movie is always perfect. I have even gone so far as creating playlists for each of my muses. I almost always listen to these when I am writing. Most of the time though I don't need anything aside from a topic for any of them.

"You are NOT doing that!" Snake stared Addie down the best he could but the giddy girlishness was getting to him.

"Please."

"Why the hell we doing this shit anyway? Halloween's over." Snake could not believe it.

"I want to dress up as a mummy." Addie declared it like someone would say they wanted to go on a fancy trip.

"Well, dress up like one." Snake shrugged.

"I want you to do it with me too."

"Why?" Snake gave her a look like she was insane.

"It'll be fun." She took his arm and started wrapping him.

Snake looked down at the gauze rolling across the floor from the other end of the roll she was winding on his wrist. Then his eye drifted to the huge box of gauze rolls. She could wrap an army with all that.

"How much you going to put on me?"

"All of it." Addie was concentrating on her wrapping.

"What about you?" Snake was not getting all of that put on him. There was no way.

"I have another box." Snake watched where she pointed and sure enough there it was. There was another whole other box of gauze rolls.

"So what are we going to do when we got all this shit on?" Plissken questioned.

Addie shrugged. "Take it off?"

Once the dirty thoughts of undressing passed Plissken started to laugh. This was crazy. "So I'm going to stand here, get wrapped up, wait while you wrap yourself and then we're going to take it all off?"

"We could do something else if you want."

Plissken started laughing again. The whole conversation was starting to sound dirty to him. "Seems stupid to get all this done and not do shit with it."

Addie seemed to think it over before getting another roll of gauze. "Yes." She agreed.

Snake got mischievous as she started wrapping his other arm. "Let's cause some trouble."

"What kind of trouble?"

"I don't know yet. Won't matter until we get this done." Snake grinned and this time Addie laughed.

I hate war.
I don't believe every line of bullshit comes out of someone's mouth
