Flying lessons (Jekyll/Rose and family?)

Snake woke still curled around the bottle on the pilot's seat. He was cramped and cranky. He missed his bed and sighed wondering where the hell he was. For a moment he thought he was back in the war. Luckily that cleared before he opened his eye. There was no telling what time of day it was. Snake didn't care as he shifted around to get comfortable. He still wasn't much in the mood for company but he was going to have to be.

Reluctantly he sat up in the seat blinking at his reflection and mussed hair. He looked like shit and felt almost as bad. Rubbing his eye he slid the hatch back and listened. It was still quiet and Snake leaned the seat back intent on a few more minutes of sleep. He'd come out when he were ready.

"I wouldn't be at all surprised" I took the glass offered and drunk little bits at a time lest I upset my stomach again. "How can you eat this time of the morning?" I laughed a little, pointing towards the crackers.

After starving for a few years you eat whenever you get a chance. Snake smiled. Even when you're sick you eat.

I nodded, I thought of Lucy then... and sighed. "I don't think I'll be eating anytime soon, I think it would just make my stomach worse."

I think it helps. Snake shrugged eating more crackers. We should check the weather. If it's going to be bumpy up there we might want to wait until you're not so green.

"How do we do that?" I asked, frowning. Maybe food would help but I didn't really have the urge to test it now. I didn't want to be sick again.

TV, computer. Snake shrugged and headed for the living room with his glass of juice and the box of crackers. Didn't look to windy down on the ground but who knows about up there.

"Ah, I haven't really gotten used to them yet" I topped my glass up with the juice and put the bottle back into the fridge. I followed Snake back into the living room, sitting on the sofa I had slept on.

Snake sat down in the chair and flipped through until he found the weather channel.

Hmm. Don't look half bad. Shouldn't be too bumpy. Good thing with how you're feeling.

I watched him move the pictures until it seemed he had found the right one. There was a lot of little pictures and colours. I frowned a little as I watched the little pictures move, and arrows too; "I'm glad about that." I said finally. "It seems you can get allsorts on that TV..." I fought the urge to blush as I remembered Rose explaining to me about it, and the things you could watch.

I really hoped Rose was alright, she hadn't come down yet.

And if you believe more then half of it you're a fool. Snake smiled.

I laughed; "I'll bear that in mind. I haven't had chance to sit down and actually watch it yet"

I nodded and shrugged, frowning a little; "Sure, why not"

Snake flipped through to the channel the US Police broadcasts were on and waited. It wasn't long until Snake was on the TV with a huge list of crimes scrolling by on the side and security films playing.

I'm a TV star.

My eyes widened a little as I watched the pictures move; "They really like you..." I said softly. "If you were in the war, if you fought for your country, then why are they after you?" I frowned deeply, trying to make sense of it all.

They sent my squadron to our deaths on purpose. Snake shrugged. I could've delt, everyone plays propaganda bullshit during the war.

They didn't stop. The government burned my parents alive because I made it back. Snake grinned at Henry. Now they've got some domestic problems.

"That's horrific!" I said, my eyes still widened. Is this really what happens in this time, in war?

I didn't however manage a smile as Snake did; "Yes, I imagine they do. Are they still after you?"

Tell me about it.

Snake chuckled. They're always after me but they'd rather I stop returning the favor.

I laughed; "Yes, although do they really expect you to stop!" it wasn't a question, it was a statement. I turned my head back to the TV again for a few moments, trying to make sense of everything I had been told and everything on the screen. I wasn't really shocked by Snake's actions, I guessed that Hyde would do exactly the same thing, even if he wasn't being chased by the government.

Yes. Snake grinned. If I get my way they'll have to.

I smiled; "You know, I think Hyde would do exactly the same thing...!

Snake looked over at Henry very seriously. I am like him and what's inside is worse.

Snake sighed. Most people don't know me like this. They see what I am out there and it's not good.

I nodded, I understood, at least on some basic level; "All they see is the monster and they forget that there is a man behind it all..."

I don't want them to think there is a man left.

I looked at him for a few moments before nodding, I thought I understood; "Whereas I am still trying to make everyone see that I'm not just Hyde..." I sighed.

Snake shook his head. If they see a man they'll start looking. I've watched three go that way and it's not happening again. Even if I got to start gunning people down every damned day.

"Three go that way?" I frowned, I couldn't help but think however that I was probably stepping on various dangerous ground with him.
